Versatile fish processing: responsibly and efficiently
The majority of Länsi-Rannikon Kala Oy’s production – over 90% – is focused on herring. From herring, we produce, among other things, fillets, machine- and hand-gutted products and herring roe. Some of the herring is frozen whole for export, especially for the canning industry. We also freeze whole herring, roach, perch and bream.
Other production consists of seasonal scale fish products, such as filleted perch and other domestic fish. We also offer herring freight filleting and freight freezing to fish companies, flexibly according to the customer’s wishes.
In Finland, we supply fresh fish and frozen fresh fish products to wholesalers and central stores. We export extensively to different parts of Europe.
Our company has been approved by the Finnish Food Safety Authority Evira as a by-product collection centre. One of our three quick-freezing departments in our production facility is dedicated specifically to the processing of by-products, and the department includes, among other things, plate freezers, crushing equipment, and separate warehouses and loading docks for efficient logistics.

Every step of the process – from reception to processing, freezing and packaging – is carried out carefully, expertly and with quality first. Our professional staff and modern equipment ensure excellent product quality and consistency in every delivery.
